How does "forcing traffic" work?

    How does "forcing traffic" work?

    Hi, new webmaster here. I just installed TTT on my site after using my own PHP script to manage my trades.

    I always see sites say "force X hits to start trade". How does that work? In TTT, I can "add nitro" to one of my trades, which I assume is forcing hits, but how does TTT just "force hits"? Like, honestly, what mechanism does it use to make sure I get those hits sent?
