A little help about HOSTING

Im having a hard decision on whether I should buy a server to host my sites or should I pay $10 - $30 / month to let someone else host my sites for me. What are the advantages from one or the other. What wold really help me in the long run. Any help would be apprieciated.

It really depends on what / how many types of sites you are building / planning on building.

If you are going to run lets say one tgp, a small virtual account somewhere will probably be fine.

I personally prefer the convenience and support of a dedicated server. And do NOT go with a cheap one. I've been through 4 "budget" priced hosts and was nothing but f'ed on each occasion.

Go with a quality managed solution. You do get what you pay for, especially with hosting.

There are many reputable server companies out there but I higly recommened M3Server.

If your current needs can be met by a 10-30/month virtual plan then getting a dedicated server at this juncture MAY be overkill. I say MAY because it will depend on what you are running. Eg: if you have a ton scripts running that require tons of system resources then a dedicated server is best for you. However absent resource intensive applications a virtual plan from the right host will serve you quite well. Plus the money you save can be used to grow your site(s). don't mean to piss anyone off, but i was wondering - a "dedicated" server means that a server is ONLY for your site(s), right?

how does the customer know that it is TRULY dedicated and not shared? just wondering...
