    is this considered content theft

what are the content limitiations when you choose to promote a pay site? Are you allowed to edit videos hosted in the members area of the site you are promoting or must you stick to what they provide in the webmasters section only?

    Is that considered theft?

I was thought it depend on the sponsor, some want you to generate a sale anyway possible, others are looking for a way to ban you. If I am picking a sponsor I want to heavily promote, I read they're rules very carefully.

The rule of thumb is that anything the sponsor provides explicitly as "Free Content" is ok to use for promotion.

But you should NOT just take content from the member's area without asking first.

        Good luck.

Thanx for that. I guess I'll just have to feel out each pay site individually.

I'm guessing you mean with all the "competition"...right?

No....Most are NOT ok with you just pulling content from the paysite member's area to promote.

Whatever you find when you log into the affiliate program is what you can use......if you need more....ask the sponsor...don't just sign up for a membership yourself and rip a bunch of content.

When in doubt ASK....you wouldn't want to get your account terminated after all your hard work.

what does "with all the compo" mean??????

with all the companies?? I don't get what "compo" is an abbreviation for.

Regardless - Most if not ALL paysite owners don't want their affiliates just giving away whatever member's area content that they want when they promote the site.

                    This isn't a hard concept.

Many sponsors will be glad to give you all you need, including unlimited access to their member areas, if you are able to generate a significant amount of sales.

                            Excuse me?

Are you aware that a lot of the content that fills the members area of paysites is specifically licensed an "non-exclusive" and in most cases, that means that the program is not allowed to give it to their webmasters?

Most are not OK with this practice as it can put the sponsor's ass in some serious legal trouble.

Aaron M is correct, if the site has exclusive content only then they may let you do it. You always need to ask them.
