ask your new host to transfer your content to their server (or do it yourself). check if everything was done correct and then switch to the new nameservers.
....oh...and don't forget file permissions, if you do the transfer yourself and have any scripts running!Last edited by guschi2k; 02-23-2004, 05:29 PM. -
If you copy everything to the new server and your old server is still up you will not have down time changing dnsOriginally posted by StickyGreen

Most hosts will transfer your site[s] for you free. Just ask. There are a few things you can do prior to the switch to mitigate the time it takes to propagate. However the info given is pretty much how it goes. Make sure you have your data copied to the new server no later than 24 hours after you update the nameservers at your registrar.
Feel free to contact [email protected] if you have any more questions. BTW which host are you leaving and why?Comment
