Do I get the impression that people looking to get into this industry are not welcome by some who may have been around for a while?
I am of course refering to some of the messages posted by others , that I have now read , and find very amusing , or is this some sort of club thing where to get in you have to be rude to each other??

It seems like most newbies coming in wanting people to write them a how-to book on adult webmastering without taking any time whatsoever first to do a little homework of their own. There is so much information out there that they can find and learn from.

I keep seeing this line from newbies about how people who have been in the bus for a while forget where they came from, that is so not true. What they fail to realize is that most people who have been in the bus for started out with nothing and no one, we learned it on our own, or at least enough to get us going, then we found groups to help us.

No one should really fault newer webmasters for having more resources at their disposal when they started than some of the veterans on this board. As industries mature, tools and resources mature. I would have LOVED to have had a resource like Cozy Academy and PornResource when I was starting out.
I would have loved to have had software that automates my TGP/LL/AVS duties instead of doing them by hand.

As Newton [?] once said "If I have seen farther than any man, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." Innovation and industry maturity always builds on what came before.

Take TGP submission for example, the old schoolers did it all by hand, then autosubmitters became fashionable, then a new crop of tools is currently arriving---tools that allow you to optimize your gallery and text wordchoice to maximize your earnings.
Instead of building galleries blindly, why not use scientific tracking and prediction models to isolate your OPTIMAL return on investment.

There will come a time when the art of online marketing becomes less of a blind gamble or random accidents and more of precision, targetting, and control. And it will be newbies and adaptable older players that will make this transition happen.
