any techies here that can help with a computor problem?

the origional operating system installed was windows xp pro.it had a boot problem and i tried everything in my power to fix it.

when i started getting the problem(after attempting to fix it)i downgraded to windows server(the only OS:i have atm)...(i did nor reformat,i just changed the operating system in order to be able to boot.)

in my personal folder from XP PRO,i have a large amount of important files that i need to figure out how to retrieve.

the problem is the drive is partitioned with NTFS...and i restricted access on that user due to the importance of files...

the folder still exists,however i cannot access it.

the exact error i received is:"C:/Documents and Settings/Pete is not accessable...access denied.

i need to know whatever it takes to be able to access this.

any help would be appreciated.

always export your key if you encrypted files, backup, try slaving the hardrive with winxp and remove them that way.

'windows server' windows server what? 2k or 2k3? i dont thing you're gonna be able to access that folder in 2k, might be able to in 2k3, but you'll have to change the owner of the files (try loggin in as administrator)
