    .htaccess options

I've been going over Apache's site and searching google, but can't seem to find it.

Is there a way to limit the number of tries in the login box for your password on a site?

I was testing a new site with authentication enabled, and it fails like 10 times before the box goes away and the 401 error pops up.

Everyone crashed for the day, I guess.

This sucks! I don't see the option in the apache docs. it might be a browser function. I only want someone to get 2 or 3 tries, then get redirected.

I'm not sure about .htaccess, but you can use a script such as pennywize
