    TGP sites made with PHP?

Does anyone know if TGP automation software has any problems with sites created in PHP?

I was thinking of using a common html body that contains the gallery and advertising, but to use a PHP header to wrap the site, and help manage the recip banners.

I don't want to waste my time if the TGP software that checks for a recip banner would choke. Also, I haven't seen anyone use PHP yet.

As far as I know, most TGPs won't accept pages ending in .php or .asp, or that have query strings at the end. Besides, if you're getting 50k+/day to a php script your system resources are gonna take a beating.

      1. Just change your php engine call from .php to .htm or .html or .jpg or .shtml or ect if you want to use php but don't want .php extension.

      2. Unless your server has 5 ram and a 12 mhz processor, 50,000 hits to php will not kill you at all. What WILL kill you is unprofessional code. You could get 500 hits and die with poorly written code. We have a server doing roughly 500,000 php page calls a day just fine.

      Its all in the coding....

        Hey Mogul,

What about simple php include statements including simple html tables and the like? That is probably fairly low intensity for the server, right?

All I wanted to do was create a basic gallery layout in HTML, and use a PHP header that includes it. Then I can have the header pick up the proper recip banners based on directory structure. that way I don't have to keep writting tons and tons of gallery tweeks.

sorta like .../1001/gallery.htm would add recip banners A,B,C
and .../1002/gallery.htm would use banners D,E,F and so on, all with a common underlying gallery.

I think I will just tell apache to check for php in all files. sounds simpler. if it chokes, I'll upgrade to a faster processor.

Mogul, 500,000 pages a day is what I dream about!
