ie 6.0 problems

I have several pages i want to access in ie 6.0 what happens, i get a dialog popup from ie asking me what to do with the file... index.htm ?!!!!!! if i access the site in ie 5.0 no problem... if i copy the same index.htm in a subdirectory /test for example it does work...

Any ideas ?... i've already CHMOD all directories to be the same...
