.pps suffix? What program does it use?

Someone just sent me a file with the suffix .pps, and I don't seem to have the necessary program to run it. (I think it's a video file)

It's not a virus, it was sent by a friend. (of course that wouldn't rule out all virii these days!!!) Does anyone know what program is required?
