Google gets most of its traffic thanks to Yahoo, any search queries that aren't relevant to Yahoo's index get dumped into google... I don't know if you'd want to take a chance and spend the $600 to try and get listed in Yahoo, but once you are listed they do send a decent amount of traffic... I'd say if you were going to try, go for a category that isn't already flooded with to many sites.

I already have several site listed with Yahoo, and today one of them just isn't there (listed) anymore.... I just wondered if that had happened to anyone else......

          Bubba,

the 'missing' site ...was it listed as a directory entry or was it listed as a "website". The former is a Yahoo listing and should be permanent... the latter is referred to google [you will see "powered by google" within a yahoo search page]

hmmmm, did you email them regarding being dropped? If they listed you once, it should be permanent. I've had good experience with Yahoo for my non-adult sites and the links are basically permanent unless you asked them to change it.

That's the real bitch about Yahoo. You pay the $600 to get listed, but they are under no obligation to list you - or keep you listed after they do list you. Yahoo is just a hole in the Internet that you pour money into.

They are right, go with Google.
