    Questions to begin

I'm just starting out with plans to build a Free Adult site and I'm asking for some advice on how to begin besides reading all the resource site (done that, they're not that informative).

1.) Is buying content a standard practice for Free sites? If not, other than making your own, where would you get it?

2.) What kind of traffic can I expect? Is 5gigs of bandwidth enough?

3.) What are the best ways to generate revenue?

    thanks in advance!

What type of free site are you planning on building? A link list, tgp, a free site with 40 pictures that you are going to submit to links lists, avs site, CJII or are you going to submit to TGP's? This will be crucial to how many gigs you are going to burn, the more pictures the more bandwidth.
As far as content goes remember that there is no "public domain" content. If you haven't bought it or taken it yourself you leave yourself open to a law suit. However, sponsors will let you use content to promote their pay sites. Content packages can be bought fairly cheaply from a number of sources.
Depending on your site type there are a number of ways to generate revenue. You can try to sell memberships that pay a one time fee to you, memberships that pay a % of the sign-ups and recuring memberships, pay per clicks, dialers and avs memberships. It really depends on your type of site.

Hope this helps, just come up with a plan of what you want to build and hopefully we can better help you.

        Welcome, and Go Fuck yourself.

When kandi and I started, we started with freesites and used sponsor content. AmateurPages (sorry for the shameless plug) was by far our best sponsor and offered a wide variety of content and it converted extremely well.

After two months with AP, we re-invested the money that we made into content using programs like Rock Bottom content, Zip Content and a few others. We used a re-direct service to run the servers out of our home, and posted mainly to TGP's and bought some per click search engine listings.

After four months, we once again re-invested the money that we had made into a paid host, started our own paysites affiliate program. The month after that we partnered with an ISP for a co-located server that we owned. Always keeping my corporate salary separate from the money we earned as adult webmasters and re-investing that money into growth.

I think, and this is just my opinion, that people are too quick to look for the fast buck. This is the mindset of the cheater. I feel that if you set out a plan for yourself, write it down on paper, use a spreadsheet, set out goals for the first year, and expect to re-invest your capitol gains back into the business that you will do well regardless of the shifting market.

        Hope this helps,

Thats a good point Midnight, for my first year I built a few free sites, a link list and I TGP'd. I did all of this on free hosting. I admit it was easier back then to work with free hosts. I didn't make a quick buck but I made some allright money. I took some of this and reinvested it into scripts, domain names, hosting and content.
Remeber this is a business and to run any successful business you have to spend a little to get a little and you have to have a plan.
