It all depends on the outcome you want, or image to portray etc. The hubby handles it when we do shoots, but there is alot more to it than a post here would ever explain.
Bathrooms being small can be hard to get lit right for nice pic quality.
If you just want off the cuff amateurs in a living room then just get some of those handy dandy shroud lights that every lumber yard has with some flood lights. Then test the positioning to get the best effect (taking pics to test) Our cat is one of the most photgraphed in the states I think. lol Being pure black he gets used for tests alot. If the details on him come out right then we know the lighting is right on the nose. Helps that he will sleep where ever you lay him down.

Backgrounds for you photos? Who the hell cares, they want to see some nice 'tap' ie: tits/ass/pussy! If she looks good, then they will never even notice the backgrounds!!!
Oh, ok, now a real professional tip, since I"m a REAL photographer and have had my share of nude women in front of me, keep it nice and clean, simple, have good lighting, shooting outdoors, go early am or late pm, nice soft warm light. A deserted beach or mountain top, a cute or sexy outfit, sexy (new) underwear or bikini, a blanket, a bottle of wine, a small radio. Shoot in the early morning or late afternoon. Use a reflector to cancel out deep shadows. Don't use the flash.
Don't allow her sister, mother, or boyfriend to come along.
