I've been lurking around here for a few weeks now, and thought this would be the best place to get some help. I'm not one of those webmasters that think he can make $10,000 the first week they put up a site, but after a month, it would be nice to have made at least $10.00.
I have my own domains, paid for hosting to stay off the freehosts, have 2 (I know, I should have more) free AVS sites, free galleries, I've posted to pic-posts, submitted to search engines, posted to TGP's, and still no sales.
It's not really a traffic issue, IMHO, because I think for only a month I'm not doing too bad. Please tell me if I'm wrong. In the last 15 days, I've had 8,136 hits to pages from outside, and 4,067 hits from inside my sites (so I know people are staying). These hits do not inlude the images and script files, only pages with some sort of ad on them, whether it's pay-per-view movies, AVS, or whatever. Someone please let me know if this is poor, average, or a good amount of traffic. I think a little over 12,000 for 15 days being brand new is not too shabby.
I'm sure there is no mentoring program for adult webmasters, as that would only have other people take your traffic and/or sales, but I do want to make this my career and think I need some help. What am I doing wrong, or is this normal? I think my sites are pleasing to the eye, aren't filled with garbage, and have content that I haven't seen all that much - found a few small content providers.
