AFAIK, you can't disable the back button without clearing the browser history. And you can only to that by opening a new window.

What pisses me off is disabling the right-click button. The other day I was at a TGP's submit page, they wanted me to use their button - but they'd disabled my right click, so how the fuck was I supposed to save it?

Hey Warphead. My boss actually requested that I put in a javascript that would disable the right and left mouse buttons over our gallery images.

You can sometimes over ride that by:
right clicking, and then left clicking while holding down the right mouse button,
          or
holding down either ctrl, or alt while clicking on the image. The JS that I use safeguards from all of the above 'bugs'.

They think it will keep people from hotlinking. Wrong!

You can still view the page source, copy the image location and load that into a new window. Or you can capture it using Paint Shop Pro.

Taking images from sites is very easy, but I'm highly against it, unless you have permission from the webmaster.

There is no way to protect from a capture from paint shop pro.

Why would anyone want to disable the left mouse button in a gallery page ? How are people supposed to view the pictures ?

Why not just disable the browser itself or lock the computer ? That'll teach them

to get past right click disabling that uses javascript popups... simply hold the right button and press enter, the popup leaves, and let go of the button, viola!

That's the best tip I have read on this board. Thanx!

I also found this at http://www.web-wise-wizard.com/javas...ght-click.html

"There is one problem that not too many people seem to know about and that is that the mouse right click can be emulated on many modern keyboards. I use a PC with the Windows NT4 operating system and my keyboard has a mouse emulation key located next to the right-hand Control key. If I press this key then up pops the 'right click' menu just as if I had clicked the right hand mouse button."
