    server info

    any of you in the ohio area willing to help me get my server running, just installed linux but know nothing about it
    any help would be greatful

    what will the server be used for ? If it's a web server, then how much bandwith do you have ? The default settings should be ok for most cases. What are your plans for the server ? What kernel/distribution are you using ?

      Server for what ? WWW - at what level have you installed linux - which linux is it - what services are you using

        I strongly suggest you learn a little about how Unix/linux works and how to setup a www service like apache if this is a server for public access. Take it from me, if you don't you will leave holes everywhere. If you are running red hat/apache use the web site FAQ's
        and study the security issues carefully.

          i have installed red hat linux and i have secure web server for linux to,
          i will be using my server for web hosting!
          hosting my own adult site, ect
          i am studying the linux stuff and html at the same time, i just have not found any where to get help or advice on what i want to do
          no worries about the connection,
          will be puttin it on a t1 and oc3 line
          i think i dont have to worrie about bandwith
          and for all my non adult stuff i already have an oc3 line threw unicall int my non adult partner has 300 duel t1 lines

          this is just my first server
          i have a ibm pc server 330 with duel 400
          bords and hot swap drives
          i have 2 80 gb cheetah drives on order
          and they broke me for the next month and a half
