    Help Needed Please

I'm building a pay site. I'm looking for information on how to pass protect a directory (user:pass) I'm new to this area and want to learn more about it.

The host offers cgi, mysql, php. Can someone please point me in the direction of a good tutorial or article on how to set up my pay site?

    Thanks

with .httacess, there are script that generate the passwords and modify the .htacces files. If you have non apache host there are several scipt, maybe a look at http://hotscripts.com will help you

Damn OKNY, did you have to buy that ICQ number? Been around for a while I take it. Thanks for helping him in a more personal way. And to the original poster, you need a lot of work on how to be an admin first. If you are using a host with some kind of GUI panel like, cpanel, then you can do it from there. Just read the menu.

If you are building a pay site I guess you want to make a members area and give every user that joins your site unique username + system that will control the logins from the same username/password/Ip . If you need any help with this stuff contact me by icq.

Your host should offer some kind of password protection software like Iprotect or Pennywize that will block hacked passes after a certain number of attempts. Setting up standard .htaccess is very simple & your host will probably have the code in their FAQ.

If you are planning on running your paysite fro a longtime
with no hassles I agree with the previous poster.

Get a pennywize.com account (it's not that expensive)
and you can redirect the naughty hackers / password
lurkers to any url you want.
