Cheap designers are poisoning the design industry , cause after all the cheapo webmasters flood them with work, they spend all the cash and can't handle the workload ,
and then they disappear it makes the good ones look bad .

I cant agree with you more to bad 90% of the people on gfy are looking for 40$ design, i guess only the other 10% care about there business.

You are very correct, you do get what you pay for. For people that want something for nothing always seem to get what they did not want to get.... Nothing!

Designers that know what they are doing and get shit done on time need to not give their talent away, you do not see a lawyer that will give you huge old price breaks, and if he does do you want him in the court room with you. Hell No you do not.... Anyhow...

By the way, you guys have some nice work and i would not lower your prices at all.

That is some pretty nice stuff, and you did it without making it look like an art project that doesn't really work for anything. For me, web designers have always seemed to be like singers, just about anyone can do it to some extent, and the really lousy ones talk themselves up a lot. Only a few have any real talent.

Not always... if designers work for a crappy boss (like mine) they are forced to produce quality stuff at cheapo prices and within tight deadlines, all because the boss is too scared he might lose out to competitors if he doesn't accept a client's price, when actually, if the entire industry pooled together no one would accept the client's price for the kind of quality and work he wanted done.

Unfortunately the bulk of designers in my firm are foreigners (part of the govt's "smart" move to get "foreign fucking talent") so they don't have much of a say when the boss hands out assignments at the prices he's accepted on designers' behalf. It's either, accept it, or pack your bags and go back to your country.

I'm currently looking for another local design firm to hire me but most these days prefer foreigners because of what I mentioned above (foreign = more desperate than locals therefore have to accept low prices for assignments). Tough. Maybe I should freelance.
