    start up?

    Hi,

I'm going to get into the adult site biz. I'd like to know what are some things I should have for sure to sucessfully start?
I have about $2000 USD to startup, some things on my list are:

    -web hosting
    -domains
    -licenced content
    -merchant account
-members area security (such as denying multiple ip logins for one account)
    -image hotlinking

    Do I need anything else?

Dude , I would get the paysite idea out of your head immediately . You'd be better off TGPing or building free sites , and spending your 2k on bandwith . At the end of it you may have learned how to sell something.

Your best bet is to check out this company I do business with, they are quick and reliable and dont charge the $750 VISA thing and are European. Good place to work with, If you go to my site and click the link to them you can sign up for free and they will even install the scripts for free in 24hrs....

you might want to try promoting an affiliate program that allows you to design the front end for the site, but they maintain the member area. once you know how you will get the traffic and how it will convert, then you might want to look into starting your own. and instead of a merchant account you may want to look at a third party processor such as ibill or ccbill. they do you your member area security for you and can even setup an affiliate program for you.

                  Swift,

I would go get an account on a free host and figure out how to make a little money first. Build every kind of site you can imagine and practice getting traffic. Forget the idea of starting a paysite. That is not for everyone and since your new I can guarantee it's not for you. Spend six months or a year learning everything you can. Your much better off sending your traffic to a sponsor.

Save your $2000. Build on a free host till your making some money. Take your profit and invest it into your own server and go from there.

Keep in mind most people fail in this business.. the ones that are successful spend their money wisely. It's not about how much money you spend.. or even if you send any at all. It is about what you know and how you use what you know.

my experience suggests it costs roughly $10k to develop the site & infrastructure (depends on complexity) and about $10k for ~3 months of advertising. So your budget should be around 20k to do it right. In this I assume you use affiliate content.

Stay away from Dutchbilling you can do much better than those fees. The industry is volatile at the moment, however you are welcome to Eme if you would like some help.

No offence, but your advice is bullshit. I'll let everyone know how it's going later on. I think you're just trying to scare away new competition like myself.

I have invested about $110 so far, and everything is looking good. I know how to do web design, and promotion, e-commerce, and all that shit. I'm just a bit new to the adult biz, but I have already bought some content, my site is about 95% done (all by myself of course), learned how to use Arles (whcih is easy anyway), what conversions work, etc.

I believe your advice is for lazy people who do not read, and do not how to use the Internet. I bet you anything at least 75% of the people on this board took less than $5000 to start.

My site cost me about $10k and all the content is exlusive and cost me nothing. So $2k won't go very far.
