Tech Looking for Simple Video Clip editor

    Hello All,

So I've got Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc however they are all a pain in the ass when it comes to doing some simple editing. You have to create a project, import media, etc etc.

What I want is something simple that will allow me to open a video clip, put some text in front of it and/or after it and then save it back out.

    What do you all use?

    thanks

Windows Media Maker is easy to work with but has very few options/effects.

      iMovie is simpler than FCPX.

You could look for an older copy of FCP7 with DVD Studio Pro. In bigger cities, you can find people on CL with older hard drives with FCP.

I've been using iMovie. Still harder than FCP7.

Toast 14 comes with MyDVD which is a whole lot closer to DSP. I'm using it to re-create some of my DVDs that got lost in a move.

Sony Vegas was talked about a few years ago. And AVID makes a little "news cutter" software. Not sure the current status of either, nor if any are OS dependent.

          Read up on ffmpeg
Is command line based, but its perfect for a quick conversion and watermarking to different formats.
