Forums ( except the pirates and special expert forums like this one) are dead technology. 5 years ago I used to have at least a dozen posts/ day.... Now?? One per week. That is however no unique situation, most forums are gone due to the new social media flavour.

Did you just post pics with direct links to a site or have clips uploaded to a site like rapidshare for free download? Is it smart to maybe make a zip file with a short clip, some images, and maybe a text file to visit wherever you want the downloader to visit?

I've noticed that some of my content that I've posted on Xhamster were used on forums like pornbb (with the sole intention for a surfer to download from a fileshare site) Without my permission.

Did you just post pics with direct links to a site or have clips uploaded to a site like rapidshare for free download? Is it smart to maybe make a zip file with a short clip, some images, and maybe a text file to visit wherever you want the downloader to visit?

I've noticed that some of my content that I've posted on Xhamster were used on forums like pornbb (with the sole intention for a surfer to download from a fileshare site) Without my permission.

I run a soft feature lesbian movie website. It has a forum where customers can praise, bitch or suggest future productions, plus other discussions about models ( ours and others) etc... etc.

FYI: We own the content so Rapidshare and the like being pirates are our enemies. We do post clips on xHamster etc.... And they are our affiliates but we post clips of our choosing, not the whole movies. XHamster for one is very good in taking down our material pirated by others. We fight the sharing sites stealing our content including Amazon, eBay and the like.

The site sells these movies ( streams,downloads and DVDs) as tangibles ( no memberships). Every visitor can go and watch over 2 h. of free clips and trailers and over 1,000 pictures in galleries. But still with overall traffic being consistent the forum posts declined significantly and folks go and "bitch" on our social media instead on our forum. I am actually thinking of closing the forum down.

Watermark some teasers or B reel footage like you would for a tube site and place that file on a zip with links to your pages. That is shared over and over with sites like rapidshare. I am wondering if file sharing is good for marketing (which is a necessary evil)

Honestly, I post on Xhamster and people download my clips and put them on fileshares that I can't take down even with DMCAs
So I'm thinking if you can't beat them, join them. But distribute your own stuff and drive targeted traffic.

I understand forums are good and signature links are good. But it's usually more people interested in making money clicking on the signatures and links. I want spenders to click and I want them to spend their hard earned money ;)

I have converted few who took my clips or whole films and then referred them to fucking Amazon to buy We offered them a better deal. Unfortunately the "rapidshares" of this world will NOT let you imbed the links to your site or the thieves remove even a basic watermark. Maybe you know something I do not know,so I am willing to learn. because the most of the stuff you are talking about " zip links, schmitt links" is all well over my head.
