Model costs? Scouting?

I'm new here and I do apologize if this is a topic discussed to death. I did a few searches though and nothing stood out.
I'm a photographer wanting to pick up some extra work if possible. I shoot stuff personally that borders on the edge of adult. Commercial Fashion and music industry full time.

I'd love some advice on model recruiting for adult. Compensation that is normal?
I'm confident in my photo abilities. Shooter for 25 years and teach lighting around the country now.

I'm not really even sure what kind of questions I should be asking. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is there even a need for photographers or do most just start their own sites like Hegre?

Love to know what proper compensation is? Or would you offer the model a percentage if any sets are picked up?

Now, even though I said I can't answer your questions because I lack the experience, but I would start out selling your model photos here, and altering your tumblr (or starting a new one) that fits with a sales standpoint. Something that shows the models you have available, and for what types of things they do (solo, fetish, g/g) etc. Prices come with experience I'm sure

Thanks for response. I do have more photos of her. We shot 3 sets that day. One was for MET but still waiting on word from them.
I could get her back up to shoot I'm sure. What kind of $ are we talking about? Again, I am new to this industry and don't know what or how any of this works.
The fashion world is model paid by client and client pays my day rate.
I'd like to be able to offer adult model a price based off if set is sold or not. Just not sure how any of this works.

I like the idea of setting up a sale site. My largest issue is Location and how to approach models for this type of work. I know they are out there here in the south...

I'm still working on the approach thing myself.

As far as I know, typically in this industry the model is paid up front for a shoot, but I suppose you could always do a casting call style of shoot and let them know if anyone is interested. Just posting the girls you have available here in the content market can garner some real interest. Then let the buyers know your prices and do a half/half payment type - and pay the model out of that.

I really am in no place to be stating prices, I think it really depends a ton on your quality of shoot and models, which to me means your shoots will be a bit more expensive - as your photos are superb (and honestly should be out of my price range heh)

Are you looking for models to pay you to shoot content of them for their own site or are you looking to go into business with a model and then build a site as partners?

I am a model and webmaster. I shoot most of my content on a share basis - so say we shoot 10 sets over the day, I get 5 the tog gets 5. That way the content remains exclusive and its also free - well trade of time & individual expertise. It can also work well as we can also sell sets to the mags like Mayfair etc and split the profits.

As for a model paying for content...it's not something I've heard of. There are so many togs willing to shoot content tf* and let the model do with the content what she will that paying just isn't a viable option - even if your photography is a million times better.

Not looking for models to pay. Looking to produce content to sell and wanting to know ways to market this to potential models. I need the models to shoot. Hoping to provide something a bit more unique and personal. I do not want to try and start my own site, ie Peter Hegre, but be a shooter for someone or company.

I'm looking for a norm or some sort of idea of what to put in ads looking for models and then how to compensate them above TFP. Only fair to pay model if I'm paid.

I can share my info with you. We do run our own website and use our own content. Occasionally we use a "guest photographer"

Model always gets $200 for first shoot. No nudity required (bra and panties). Consists of 10 outfits that she brings with her, I provide the panties. This usually takes 2 hours. If another photographer is working, he gets $50.

Oh, on scouting.... word of mouth! It can be hard to find the first one, but after that, she will bring a friend ( offer $25 for the referral) and so on. We have never had to advertise and been doing this since 1996.
