Live Stream to server, accessed via java?

Ok, here's what I would like to accomplish:
    I have a webcam.
    I can make it stream.
I only have enough bandwidth on the DSL line for one viewer.
My server, however, has a lot more bandwidth.
I would like my server to pick up that stream and act as a repeater.
Users would view the stream on the server via java applet (not real player or any other platform-specific program, this needs to be portable)

How can I get this done?

That is interval uploading, not what I am trying to do.

Think about how online radio stations run - you're not downloading an MP3 when you listen to them, they are broadcasting an audio stream over the net. So, instead of downloading a jpg, you're accessing a stream of images that a server is broadcasting.

Helix, that program is not what I am looking for. As it is, I am capable of streaming to a java applet, but I dont have enough bandwidth for only one viewer at a time. I want to stream to a server, and have the server act as a repeater. Users will access the server, and use the server's bandwidth, not mine.

            Halx,

Hard to help not knowing what "stream file" you are wanting customers to view. I am assuming you want a java applet in html to play this file yes? Well first then you have to have the accompanying java script for that particular company software/ file to decrypt and play on the end user's machine. Need the enigma machine to understand the transmission..Emulive has the best compression/fps's I have seen so far.

Not sure what you are asking,

            John

              On This topic,

Can anyone help me make heads or tails of the new jpeg2000 compression and use within html? I cannot afford these high-priced streaming softwares without having to sell off a nephew.

              Thanks in advance,

              John
