    Google HTTPS/SSL Update

    Hello guys,

Does anyone are familiar with this google update?

    Official:
    http://googlewebmastercentral.blogsp...ng-signal.html

    More about it:
    http://searchengineland.com/google-s...l-sites-199446

    What this means?

That all websites must use HTTPS to rank better? Adult sites included?
This is nothing to do with TLS correct?

So... just to make sure that I understood this correctly...

For example, websites that with good ranks like pornhub.com and youporn.com dont have https in their urls... but if you enter directly on https://www.pornhub.com you are redirecting to http://. This means that they already have https active?

Sorry for the questions, just trying to understand to try the same in my websites.

Does anyone know any guy good that can make this configuration in my server/website?

    Thank you guys!

Sounds like you have the gist of it. It looks like the server you're on uses cpanel. Just grab an SSL from your registrar. It shouldn't cost more than about $10/mo. The cert can be installed in cpanel quite easily. Your host should be able to provide help with that.
    I like pie.

Hi buddy, thank you for your reply!

But isn't HTTPS/SSL only used for e-commerce websites? Or is for general websites too?
For example, can I use it on thongsaroundtheworld.com ? And will appear with http or https?

Using namecheap SSL certificates, what SSL do you recommend for non e-commerce websites? I have about 30 websites/domains.

      URL: https://www.namecheap.com/security/s...alidation.aspx

      Hope you can advice me.
      Thanks once again ;)

Ideally, every website would encrypt the traffic between user and server.

Until Facebook used https, you could sit in a Starbucks and just grab everyone's login credentials around you kinda like intercepting radio broadcasts with your FM tuner.

At the very least, it gives your users privacy. Even if they're just browsing thong pics.

          Will this affect affiliate sales?

Lets say a surfer clicks on my affiliate link but doesn't buy until maybe 10 days later. Won't the privacy settings of the SSL delete his cookies therefore not giving me credit for the sale?

That is a good question... I don't know either.
Anyone can help us with this?

It has less to do with Ranking better than it does with the age verification and censorship that's about to hit some countries in Europe. Will it effect you now?!? NO..

In a few months when certain countries block your site's entry into search results for not abiding to the censorship / age verification laws soon to hit Europe.

Will other countries follow??? My guess is that if you're going to have to take a Credit Card number for age verification, you better get that sorted shortly.
