    Minimum Blog Post Length: Myth?

Okay, so I've been told a million times that blog posts need to be a minimum of 500 words. I've also been told that no matter what we do, the tubes will still eat all the best keywords on google. But tubes aren't writing articles of 500 words, they're doing tons of content with internal links. So what about a blog with short posts, great content attached, and tons and tons of them with internal links? Would this be SEO suicide or finally a way for blogs to break into the big keywords?

Your blog will never outrank a tube. That is just how it is going to be from now on. They have time on site, bouncerate and pages viewed that will keep them above you no matter what you do.

As for needing 500 words. I don't think so. What Google has been doing a lot of is training their bots to actually read your posts. It looks for basics in writing. Do you have a topic sentence? Do you use transitions between paragraphs? Do you conclude with something? Do you bring up points and are they flowing in the correct order? Did you cite something? Did you bring up an alternate view point contrary to that of the article?

Adult bloggers fail to realize that Google deals most often with mainstream where the content is polished. I see a lot of my competition (in writing posts) where they have 75 to 140 words of utter crap. Complete shit. Example:

He said she needed to suck his cock. Adult dating is like that you know? Nobody wants a committed relationship anymore. You can get massive amounts of dates with no work on your part. Let the computers at Match You Up do all of the work. With some luck and a good profile you will get laid tonight. Adult sex dating is becoming the biggest section of online dating because it is no strings attached.
Google is getting better and better at catching this crap writing and tossing out the link benefits. Not to mention the writing is so shitty nobody would actually read it. So crap metrics for analytics would get this site into the 10,000,000 Alexa blogoshere.

a porn blog with a 500 words post? Google knows that porn users want vids and pics, not text. So it might appear to google that your 500 words posts are just for SEO, not for the user. A porn site is pics and videos, less text. A porn wiki needs text, okay, but a porn site no. My porn blogs have something like 70-100 words per post and well ranking.

Depends on your whole site structure how google ranks your blogs, not only the text.

Content is king and will always remain king.

Never the less, we are talking about adult websites so google interprets the differently.

All you have to do is to combine original content with vids and pics and it will be ok. As lenght is recommended to be over 2 paragraphs.

        Hope this helps.

It's the type of text. No spamming or SEO text. Vary the text lenght, one about 80 words, next 190, then simply 40. It's just as long as you have to say something....not as SEO requires...

Unique text that isn't crappy like the one vvvv posted does matter but as long as you don't have video content on the posts you won't rank that well in today's world.

My best blog i would do like mentioned above, 70-80 words on one post, next post would use 110-120 next 60 or 70. Always changing it up, good sentence structure, good English and common sense writing. Someone quoted a fucked up post above that sounds like it was wrote by someone with about 3 hours of English classes in a 3rd world country. My best blog I had in the 800k Alexa range before selling it for a nice little profit. I don't see why anyone would do 500 word post for porn.
