    Is it possible?

Ive just learnt some of the php image functions (imagecreatefromjpeg, getimagesize, etc..) I was wondering if anyone knew if it possible using some kind of function to add a layer to an image.

I would like to add a domain name stamp on a set of images, like a copyright.

Does anyone know if this is possible? If not, would anyone be interested in a script that would automatically stamp images in a directory, outputting the stamped ones and deleting the old, unstamped ones.

I actually worked it out in the end. Here is a test script to show you:

    http://www.cj-design.com/copyright/copyright.php

The script can be used to copyright a whole directory of images in seconds with either a copyright image, or a font placed on top. The font being the clearer option - your own font file can be used.

If you want this script hit me up on webmaster?cj-design.com (change ? to @)

Harv -- I have some e-mails for you if you are looking for good PHP guys, awesome code, and they let you name the price. nxventures [at] attbi [dot] com. I will be around tomorrow for a while.

PHP's image functions suck. No matter how good you are with the ones built in, you can't get a really high res image with a quality stamp without using crazy server resources. Works if you don't have any visitors I guess, but not practical for a high traffic site. MOST IMPORTANTLY HOWEVER -- you just more than doubled the image size to add a copyright. Stamp em at home and optimize them!!! . Best off to hand stamp then upload.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

its only double cos I set the quality at 100, if you set your images at 80 then use the function output as 80 there is no loss

It is a cool little script, I have written many like it before, but PHP is just NOT good to mark images, unless you absolutely need everything to be done online and you don't care about quality.
