Wordpress Gallery Defaults?

Hey guys. I'm looking for a way to change the default settings on wordpress' gallery. When you upload your images it gives you the option of changing the number of images in a column, and whether the images link to the media file or the attachment page. I've looked around and I can't find a way to change them. A few WP versions ago it used to remember my settings, with 3.5 though it always reverts back. Any solutions?

I don't know how to help you but you have a underful site, i like'it, WordPress is good for a site like this, i mean do you have a lot of visitators?

Unfortunately I don't have many visitors. Only around 100 unique visitors a day. I'm relatively new to this business.
