To elaborate on what bluebook18 said, "BUMP - Bring Up My Post" (or really "Bring Up My Post), posting "Bump" in a post brings said post up to the top. Since many forums organize threads by recent replies to the initial question in periodical order," bumping" is a way to move your thread or question to the top of the list. This is why if you look at the original posting date for some of the more popular threads, they may be from several years ago. This is simply because someone has recently replied to the thread to keep it active.

The "Bump" can also be used for a 'box'

Bump is when you read a thread and snort a line of coke. The coke heads on these forums will use any excuse to get high.
