    WARNING pages??????

OK...how the F*** do you make that page. I'm not a programmer and my host is not smarter believe it or not. So if any pros out there could tell me if it would be wise to put my home page as a warning page for adult content i would very appreciate.

I use them on a grip of my adult sites. They're easy to make, just a simple page in your root folder with a message saying you're gonna see porn if you click "enter". If your home page for your site is in the root folder and is a php page then make your warning page "index.html". Or you can use a modal popup. All kinds of ways to make one. I personally use warning pages mostly to trigger pop-unders when someone clicks enter. Some people say their bad for bounce rate or whatever other reason. I say it's all about what works for you and there is probably no need for you to worry about it right now.

put a cookie checker in them, so once clicked by a punter never show again to them. send all under 18/NO traffic to some mainstream , not that a minor would ever lie of course, but it might one day make a sale.

Some sites/companies require them and if so, use them.

You just name it index.htm and put it in the root of the domain. yourdomain.com/index.htm

Make sure the use the exit link to a mainstream site. Depending on the amount of exits clicks you get you might even be able to sell them.

I always use them, just create a plain html or shtml file and make it your home page. The cookie thing a great idea btw.

A good practice is to redirect all first-time visitors to the warning page. Just use cookies and/or sessions.

                  Good luck!
