Hi, just setting up a new site and needed your advice before I start linking.

Linking to Sponsors main page
or
Sign-up page

What are your experiences with ratios?

I think every users would like to see something before signing up, so I think you should use tour links or mixed(tour and join links). Possible I am wrong, but it seems to be working...for me

sponsor main page always are working better for me than the redirect to a sign up/join page...

Same here..always noticed better results from the main page as opposed to the signup page..Lets them see what they are getting with their purchase.

I usually mix them up. I also tend to say something like you can join here and link it. This may not be the right or wrong it's just what I do

When someone clicks on a banner or whatever, they are doing that because they want to watch a certain movie or are interested in a particular thing, not because they want to give you money. When you link to a signup page it just comes across as "gimme yer money!" rather than giving them a tour and (hopefully) making them want to join.
That's just my opinion and I could be completely wrong.

I do wish some sponsors would make links to the signup page a little more obvious. You'd think that wouldn't a problem.

Main page usually works great with me.. I have tried with direct join page but hardly got any good results ~

It varies greatly on what you are doing and the overall design of the site. I found for the most stuff I link directly to a page within the sponsors site, like when talking about a specific movie but sometimes you can talk about that movie yourself on your own page then say like DOWNLOAD NOW - then link that to the sponsors join page.
