Anyone user wordpress.com for hosting WP sites ?

Doing some R&D for wife. Is their any advantage with hosting at http://en.wordpress.com/products/ instead of a regular host who is offering a shared hosting plan like www.hostgator.com etc . This is for a light use site ....no need for dedicated hosting etc

Tons of other hosts too, see if you can get a static dedicated ip. Many virtual servers include this.
