Software? That stuff is easy to write from scratch for a semi-compittant admin. I setup most of a freehost once with a guy in under 24 hours.

Only problem with this is if you use Certian Peoples Software they want you to host with them ,.,.....
if you want to have a true Freedom with your hosting and run a free host i would recomend the new solution scripts software ... it supports full ftp ..
and the old software can be easly setup to support FTP in a few hours as we have done ... Dont get stuck at any one hostComment

There is no need to reinvent the wheel unless you're looking for something not so standard.
Solutionscript is a good company and has been around for years and years.
Keep in mind you will want a program which will have the ability to spread itself out across multiple servers so that your one machine doesnt get overloaded.
Depending on your goals of the freehost you might want to invest into a customscript which would not give you problems down the road when you become popular.Comment
