Banwidth testers - inside pls.... help needed

Irrelevant shit to tie up a crazy day....

I need you to hit up:

    http://bw.borkedcoder.com/

let the movie play for a while and watch the green input as well as the white input text at the top....

Depending on how your bandwidth fluctuates (the real test) will dictate which bps video stream you will see....

    Please please post:
    1. your max, min and your perceived ~avg bandwidth as shown by the green text/line
    2. Which video bps you mainly watched (the white line/text)
    3. Where you are in the world (UK, Germany, US East, US West, Canada East, Canada West, Japan, Afghanistan etc)

If you can't get sustained 1.5mbs, the video will stall, but that doesn't matter... just need ideas of your bw.

Better still, if you could post a screencap of the video lines along with where you are, I'd have your firstborn.... if I could carry it to term

thanks advisor - exactly that I was looking for....
3 vids to display - 1.5mbs, 4.6mbs and 9.2mbsp. Thats shows perfectly you could cope with some form of HD (the vid you saw at 1.5mbs were not nd-optimised at all, only the 9.2 one)

Keep them coming folks - it's the stability on that green line that interests me and advisor's is a perfect debug test for me....

thanks cyf - that's even better to know.... streaming something else while trying that gives a min of 1.6

trying to get an idea here of how people's bw changes over time for HD streaming.... the real max bw isn't an issue, just how stable people's connections are in real-world tests.

thanks guys n gals... pls keep them coming

my green line fluctuated more than Advisor's did. Mine almost hit the white line at the low point.

Yeah, but that's because you had a bigger deflection - 4.8 to 1.6. There is no "hitting the white line" as each line is 100% independent of the other and relative to itself on the y-axis... they are just ordered like that for siplay - the white line has only 3 steps - step 1 (9mbs), step 2 (4.6) and step 3 (1.5). The bandwidth is dynamic and will re-adjust he y-axis if say your bandwidth starts out at 1.5mbs but shoots up to 100mbs....

Advisor (and by the sound of it yours) is how I would expect a bandwidth to be - a wave like structure, but I need to check to see....

fwiw - if you go below the 1.5mbs for >5 secs, your stream should stall... I'd also like to know if streams stall or not...

come on folks - more testers... participate for the good of science here....

Done with Firefox 3.6, on Gardemoens Airport, Olso, Norway via some VPN system that tunnels me to/via an IP location in Stockholm, Sweden. No clue on available bandwidth since this is not my regular connection but a client's solution.
