Like the title says. I hate cops, anyone else here hate them as much as me? I just got my 3rd bullshit ticket in 60 days. Never had a ticket in my life before that. I called the cop a douche.

If you call a cop in Toronto because you've been robbed or attacked good luck getting anything done. For robbery or theft they don't even show up anymore, same for accidents. I always can find a few hiding behind our local plaza asleep.

Every morning I watch them sit in the same spots writing the same bullshit tickets instead of going after crooks.

Cops suck, bottom line.

With internet you can do research and fight by mail.

Once I did research on the net and found out the sign I alledgedly disobeyed did not meet legal requirements for shape, size of letters, etc. Submitted protest in writing, case dismissed.

In most places they have to pass a psych evaluation to get the job. I have a friend who was trying to be a reserve cop and didn't pass the psyche evaluation because she recently went through a divorce and was told that she was still too mentally fragile and ungrounded from it.

This doesn't mean that someone can't lie on the evaluation, but there are some buffers in place to help weed those people out. Contrary to popular belief most cops are not power hungry psychopaths. I personally know a lot of cops and I would say only a few of them out of the dozens I know are what I consider "cowboy" cops who think they are John Wayne cleaning up the scum.

That's only on their off days. If they are on duty they get the same pay, and they often don't show up because they get tied up with another call and can't make it to court on time...

I don't hate cops. Cops can be a lot of help. Chances are low that a cop gave you a ticket that you did not deserve. In my life, I paid several parking tickets. I think that was fair.

Of all the runs ins I've had with cops (mostly speeding) and stories from friends about their encounters I'm pretty sure the key to getting off easy with a warning or something is just being friendly/talkative/funny with the cop. I hate them all with a passion and give off a shitty attitude straight from the getgo so I can pretty much understand why I never get away with anything. I'd rather take the ticket than pretend like I like a pig.

I think cops should just respond to 911 calls. That's when people actually need them.

Speed limits are set too low anyways, and practically everyone drives 75 miles/hr. in 65 mile/hr. zones. And they enforce speed laws arbitrarily.

If people teleported from point A to point B instead of driving, the cops would have to do real law enforcement.

whatever it is i've been pulled over for has been some sort of mistake, not like i'm a criminal and have to hide anything. and i admit to whatever it was i was pulled over for and many times, this approach works to get me a warning, no ticket.
