I use VLDpersonals for 2 years. It is a simple, good basic structure.
it is easy to create fields and display them where you want.
But there are more advaced scripts now. Vldpersonals need some killer ad-ons.
if you want to set up a simple profile site, it is perfect.
Better than Buddypress and Joomla community.
I bought unlimited license to test the script on several sites.
There are showcases on their site. it is worth the money i think.

thanks for review bjorn. Does your dating website has any payment method? I saw at Key features the option Full PayPal Integration which is pretty useless regarding adult.
The sites mentioned above all use the standard templates. It is easy to make your own look and feel. If you are not a good programmer it is easy to work with. Create a field and with some easy tags you can show that information on a profile.
I had a small payment option, pay 1,30 once per sms/phone. But i stopped that.
You have to look at the standard methods, they are no use for me cause i have Dutch sites.
There is a good developper who might be helpfull http://www.vldcrowd.com/
Search their forum, some integrated ccbill. i used www.123ticket.com
I know, there's nothing perfect when it comes to scripts and hackers but damn !
Indeed , i tried couple of years ago the osdate script and i got hacked after 8 month of work. I forgot to make backups and all my work dissapeared in one unlucky day. I`m scared now of free scripts and i don`t thing i`m gone use them anymore.
Need a script as well and am wondering what what site owners do if they decide the script they have been using for a while is not going to work out in the long run. Is there a way to transfer the profiles to another script?
I bought skadate but I am going to build it from scratch. Any programmers want to do it on a partnership. Build me a back end for www.marrymesugardaddy.com we can market it and split the profits.
I have the tour and click through program. I need the same thing this post needs, a dating back end. Any takers?

Love the intro on your site!!!! That girl is the exact image I get when I think of gold diggers.
go custom unless you want a bloated buggy script. any script you find changes are they're not design for a huge user load. example look at where the user images are stored 9 times out of 10 they're all dumped into one "/images" folder. that's fine if you have a few thousand users but once your number gets up there that folder will become an issue
Sure if you know to the minus detail what you want in the script and have a big budget for it or else that custom script will turn out to be worse than an off-the-shelf one that has already been tested by 100s of customers and been updated numerous time.
