For the record I have read old posts in the past... and from what I remember people seemed to like:
(in no particular order)
Vegas Video
Ulead Video Studio
Adobe Premiere
I would just like to watermark some video trailers with a domain with the least possible quality loss.
I'm new to all of this, so I'm not sure which application is best suited for the job.Comment

I tried most of them, and am currently using Ulead Studio Pro. For me, it was the easiest to learn and start churning out video fast.Originally posted by goBigtime

Cleaner will watermark but it is slow. Procoder is faster and will watermark. These will also let you batch convert to multiple types of files and bandwidth sizes.

If you need to cut and edit, I like DV-storm.Comment

How is cleaner or procoder on the quality loss after watermarking a video thats not the raw original? Thats mostly what I'm worried about.Originally posted by Sassyass

We use Premiere and we watermark all of our videos and the quality of the video is never compromised. We managed to find a setting using Cleaner 5.0 which makes the video clearer and you can actually read the watermark rather than a blur. For an example, check out the sites in my sig.Originally posted by goBigtime

They use industry standard compilers. The quality will be as good as you make it. Take a small clip and goof around with the settings until you get them right.
You can hit me up on ICQ if you need some help.
Just make sure you understand what you need, and get the software that fits those needs. The blanket easy to use, do everything software packages are good to a point, but to get the best quality, I always go for the more industrial strength apps.Comment

Yeah I don't need a pretty, dumbed-down, easy to use GUI as much as I need/want minimal loss (if any) when slapping a watermark (or preferably a few intro frames) on to videos.Originally posted by Sassyass

You are going to spend upwards of $700 for something like Premire. You can find folks to do all the encoding and editing for you for a lot cheaper and in a lot less time than you will have to learn how to use the program while you are trying to get it right.Originally posted by goBigtime

It's just for small runs... we're looking to do this ourselves.
I don't get it. People pay great money for professional hosting. Your content is done right is just as important.
Add it to your monthly budget and send tapes off, go spend more time on other things like building traffic.Comment

If you just want to dump an intro, not your logo at the bottom through out the clip, use Flash to make it, save it as a MOV and use an Mpeg joiner.
Or if your going WMV, use movie maker. It will do the titles.
I was confused with how you are using Watermark. When I think Watermark I think of my logo at the bottom of the entire clip.Comment

Don't stress too hard over it. Outsourcing isn't an option or a desire for us.. if it was, the topic would have reflected that.Originally posted by RATBOY

But we're talking about purchased content.... not produced content. They aren't our tapes. We just want to tag trailers and clips for galleries.Last edited by goBigtime; 04-28-2003, 09:15 AM.Comment

If you dont have the tools, I will make the intro for you and show you how to add it on to your clips using free software.Comment
