I designed this script for myself as I have a lot of different registers and while they sent me emails, sometimes they go into my spam folder.

Domain Manager is designed webmasters with a large number of domains over different domain registers. Domain Manager show you the expired date along with other details like register, host, cost and dns.

Yeah, I have been just using a text file myself and moving them into months so I could keep them, but this just makes it easy. And I can see it if im away from the office.

Let me guess, it does a WHOIS search with Internic.Net to get the domain details? I gave you the idea, right on this very forum. I want 20%!

Kiopa, nope it doesn't. You have to enter the details manually. Some domains don't have who is anyway. Most of us Adult webmasters pay for privacy and therefor whois is pointless.

Personally I've been using something similar for years that does daily whois lookups, updates all info and notifies me if something changes (in case a domain is hijacked or some registrars privacy service suddenly stops working), does ns lookups and checks if my sites are up....

Will it email me before a domain is about to expire?

If so, I'll buy it, but I do not see that mentioned in features.

I'm always worried of missing an email from a registrar, especially since they send so much junk mail between notices.

If this thing can email me, then I can setup special rules to process those messages.

Does your script also query the registry whois too? And compares the two ensuring, in particular, that the registrants and expiration dates match. If not, that's something you should add.

Mismatches between registry and registrar whois is an uncommon problem, but occurs often enough that it, nevertheless, should be monitored.

Even big name registrars have problems with mismatches, in particular Moniker and eNom.

eNom is a special case - mismatch problems there often involve "thick" registry TLDs, in particular, .org, .info, .biz, and .us ... the issue can crop up after doing a "push" within eNom to a new registrant - eNom updates their local whois, but often not the registry whois...

So even TLDs of "thick" registries can have mismatches, because some registrars maintain their own whois for those TLDs too despite it not technically being necessary.

my own set of perl scripts.... my entire network is built using 100s of small perl scripts and duct tape

I use fabulous.com which is basically this script plus you can do all the things registrars do like redirect domains, pick landing pages from PPC sponsors.

I want a script that you can also setup all the domains from and it auto generates WP sites or something more useful than just tracking...

I didn't make it update automatically because that would require other services like whois to work correctly. I hate having to update my software when someone else updates. This is a stand alone script.

I went ahead and bought it the day it was released.

I'm happy.

It dawned on me that for only $10 flat, this thing will not wash my car for me. I'd expect to pay more for more features, but I really only need what this script does (well, I'd still like the email feature) ... everything else is just gravy.
