Temp Internet Help Question

Hey all you friends I have a wierd problem and was hoping someone could help me.
OK I clear my windows Temp, History & Temporary Internet folders a few times a week. But today when I try to clear temporary internet, I select all and then choose delete but the Temporary Internet folder still has about 17 files remaining. Then even if i highlight them 1 at a time and hit delete, well nothing happens??...This is wierd...
Any Ideas for me to try??

They may be locked by your browser or something. Reboot and try to delete 'em before you open your browser.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried rebooting and deleting again, like a zillion times, but to no avail..the few files still never go away......

Elvis, thanks for the reply. Whats wierd is that they are all normal, like .gif, html...
They are also not from an adult site, they seem to be from my sons sport trivia sitess he goes to.. hummmm This is so wierd.
Everytime I keep trying to clear this folder, everything else goes away, but these few darn files....arggggggggg

To the rest of you who offered your help to askmomma, I think you all are great people. askmomma has been a good friend for a few months now, and was a newbie about a year ago. She came to me for help with simple html and file manager questions. Now only about 1 year later she is doing quite well with her sites.

Well I guess I better make sure I get her problem straight or Ill look like just a fire fly in the sky instead of a Lightning Bolt...LOL

Have you tried going to MSDOS mode and delting the files from there? It always works that way for files that cant be deleted from windows for some reason. Just restart in MSDOS model, browse to the directory and type del *.* (will delete all files in that directory!!!)

All it takes is a DOS window Hypo, and it works because DOS will ignore the file permissions where Windoze won't.

You can delete by doing a del C:\whatever\whatever\*.gif or *.jpg etc.

This will get rid of everything.

If it's only a few non-porn gif files, why are you beating yourself up trying to delete them? Unless they are causing some kind of problem for you... why not just forget about them?

When I have that problem I just go out of that folder, go back into it, then the files can be deleted. I think they must be cookies buried in the gifs cause they aren't gifs when I deleted them the second time.

You are aware that you cannot delete files/pics from sites that are open? At least I cannot.
