I need to file a patent for an invention.. and I mean I need to get it (if possible) at least filed for or whatever I need to do, don't care what it costs.. I need it done as fast as I possibly can.

I CANNOT fucking believe nobody ever thought of this or built one...

Ladies and gentlemen, the next frisbee has been created, and it was totally by accident.

Holy Crap.. I must have saved somebody's life or something because I know I never deserved a stroke of luck like this.


If You can help, point me in the right direction, give me a url, just anything so I can get started and done as FAST as possible.

Oh man.... this is SO fucking cool... every mom, dad, kid, cripple, tall small person in the world will want one.

Took us 4 years for a golf product patent and patent pending means shit. People always will and can redesign and market a patent pending product until yours is reviewed. The patent office is so far behind(4-5 years) you will be crying like I was when our competitor was selling along side us with our trusty "patent pending" clause on our cardboard box. Dokk if it's that great and unique an idea the chance that somebody is going to beat you to a patent on it in the next month is a million to one or more. So you don't have to rush like a madman.

Call a good general local lawyer. Ask him if he does patent law, because you want to file a patent. If not, ask him if he can recommend someone.

this is a quickie that i learned, but it delt more with copyrights, ie music, writings and such

but basically just make your plans and send the info to yourself via certified mail from the post office and don't open it,

was told that can hold up in court to prove you made it prior to that date

That works for copyright, not really for patent. Might help you a little in a court, but a pending patent would do all the same and then some.

I agree about the certified mail - it is used mainly for copyrights, but it still can't hurt. It will provide a definite, undeniable date of when you put the plans together. It *can* help you in court if ever needed.

Gather up everything about this idea - your notes on it, your plans for it, drawings if you have (or need) them, your marketing plan - and put it into a sealed envelope (or box). Take it to the post office and mail it to yourself certified mail - get a receipt and insure it - when it comes make sure you sign for it and do NOT open it. Just tuck it away in the closet somewhere (make sure you label it properly so others will know what it is and not to open it).

In any ? dispute you will need to prove prior art in other words you can up with the idea before anyone else. Sending a certified envelope to yourself is one way another is to send it to a lawyer as well have it notarized and sealed if possible and include the front page of a newspaper to prove the date. Good luck you have a long haul ahead of you.

just a word of advice. I've been told this by people tha have registered patents before. Write your entire idea/plan whatever on a piece of paper and go have it notorized. Also put in there that you have the intention of filing a patent. Put it in a self addressed stamped envelope and mail it to yourself so that it has a USPS dated cancellation on it. When you get it don't open it and that way you can prove the date that you had the idea so if someone else overhears your idea and jumps in on your patent you can prove the exact date you had the idea.
