LinkUpPro concerns...

I've asked what programs ppl use to submit their FreeSites to LinkLists and I was recommended LinkUpPro.

I was wondering if anyone here is using it and if so, what do you think?
My concerns are if I'll be black listed using this program and how productive it is. So far I've only used free tools and they haven't been worth paying for IMHO...

Unfortunally LinkUpPro don't offer a trial or a list of sites in their database and when trying to e-mail them I get it back mailer-deamon, even though I copy and paste their e-mail addy into my e-mail client (weird)

So if you're using it (preferbly for submitting to LinkLists, not tgps's) - please post your feedback

You will only get blacklisted with it if you auto submit to sites that do not allow auto submitting. Otherwise, it is a very powerful tool, with the main power being that you can fully customize your own database, and hand submit to the ones that need it, and auto to the rest. Before you submit anything with it, go through the database and read the rules of each and every site.

Well, that was kinda my point... are sites that will ban your for autosubmitting included in this program? If so, why?? lol

you say it's a powerful tool - I assume you've bought it and are happy with it?

LinkUp Pro is OK...if you create and maintain your own database. The database is not kept current. I actually would recommend Advanced Submitter. It is cheaper...easier to create and maintain your own database (which at this point you have to do as the database that comes with it is not current). The next version of Advanced Submitter is supposed to be out soon and is supposed to have a database service (you have to pay for the service and at this point the cost of the service is not available). Bottom line I think Advanced Submitter is the better deal. By the way I have purchased both.

I have no clue why the sites that don't take auto subs come in the premade DB.. I've often suggested that they should come with no database at all. Yes, I own it, and yes I'm happy with it... now that MY database is current and easy to maintain... opposed to how it was when I got it.

I agree..I keep up my own database and am very careful how to submit with it..

Tell ya the truth, I use tgp assistant for all..I love it..

I can't speak directly for Ben about LinkUp Pro but from my understanding there is a new updated database coming soon.

Autosubmitter are so abused it's not funny. As a result the honest webmaster has to pay for someone else's laziness and dishonesty.

It's just one big old cluster fuck for site owners that have to deal with the ton of autosubmits they get.

But yet some still don't get why autosubmitter are banned.

You are aware that the new randomly generated code type entries actually do work to prevent autosubmitting, right? In my opinion, the 'problem' of autosubmitting hasn't been an actual problem since those came out.

I like advanced submitter because you can create custom databases, include site specific info/rules/data

but the nicest thing is you don't have to use it like a true "auto" submitter
the "Live" setting simply fills out all the info into the submit form for you - basically you load the submit page and press submit (unless you have to enter the random generated code into a field)

it's a huge timesaver, and it's use will not get you banned or blacklisted - you'd be surprised how fast you can get done with a big submit routine without using the full on "auto" setting

and that's why a lot of sites are going to that type of script.

Hey ppl,

Yeah I've been a bit busy but I'll be updating the database in future with TGP2 and TGP1 partner sites. I find that TGP1 sites are just too hard to maintain. Many TGP1 sites have let their domains expire, or have broken scripts, or never review their galleries. Some of the TGP submitters claim thousands of sites in their databases but I know that the vast majority of these are sites that just aren't worth including. Which is just one more arguement for creating your own database. I agree with HungSolo it would be better if I just gave a blank database but it is handy for an example of how data should be entered. Everyone should create their own database to match their needs. By creating a unique and personal database you are creating your own competitive edge. This data is important for you to get traffic from places that not too many other people are exploiting.

Some sites don't accept auto-submissions but if their scripts will allow it then I've found they'll accept quality submissions. If you create your sites to the lowest common denominator and make sure they are acceptable to the vast majority of sites then you will get accepted. If you submit junk or don't think and submit to the wrong type of sites then you can only expect to get blacklisted.

Admins complain a lot, not just about 'cheaters', but about people in general who don't follow the rules. Well, Jesus Christ, when every site has its' own variations on 'the rules', then you can't expect wm's to read all of those rules; there's simply no time, unless you're rich already.

If admins want everybody to follow the rules to the letter, on 500 different sites, then they need to start working together and settle on 1, or a few, central rule sets.

If you stick your foot out in the road, a car is going to run over it. You can't blame the driver for your insanity.

As long as there are assloads of zany rules out there, then no one will bother to read them. Unfortunately, being blacklisted on a small percentage of sites is acceptable; it's like a business tax; it's just 'part of the biz'...

I'm not trying to encourage people to break the rules, I'm just describing reality. If wm's could somehow be forced to read all rules before submitting, NONE of the lower traffic sites would get any submittions.
