    Uncontested Divorce....

My divorce is but a few days from being complete. It was totally uncontested, since my ex and I were able to come to an agreement on all terms, including division of property and assets, time spent with our son (we're both Joint Managing Conservators), etc.

For all those who are already part of the Dedico Familia, don't worry - one of the provisions was that my stake in my companies would remain untouched.

So now, finding myself at the end of one chapter and about to begin another, I must say that if what by all accounts has been just about as easy of a divorce as one can be, I truly feel bad for all those of you who have gone through, or will go through, an ugly drawn out war in court.

    Live and learn!

I'm very happy to see this, especially when kids are involved. I hate that it came to divorce, but you and your "ex" deserve kudos for not dragging yourselves and you child thru the mud. Very cool. best of luck in the new chapter, with decisions like the one you just made, you will be fine.

A no-drama divorce. I suspect you will be envied by many.

I am sure there are many marriages held together by fear of drama. (especially expensive drama)
        - As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.

Thank you very much. :-) Yeah, the big thing for me was that I don't want my son to grow up with his parents hating each other. Trust me, I definitely want her out of my hair, but I'm sure that after awhile things will get much easier between us.

$500 in attorney's fees on my end. My attorney reviewed the decree, we carefully made sure there were no disadvantageous ambiguities, bounced back and forth with her attorney a few times over a few revisions, and it was done.

I agree. We privately discussed all the nitty gritty about possessions, assets, etc. Then we wrote up our agreement, gave it to the lawyers, and had it written into the decree. However, this was something I had been putting off for a few years, mainly because I was really dreading the reality of not having my son living with me, and being the visiting parent, even though we're both Joint Managing Conservators. In Texas, unless Mom is a complete psychopath (which my ex is not), Mom is always the primary caregiver of a child of my sons age (2.5).

Yeah, nice job on no drama, especially with kids in the picture. Commendable.

Thanks. :-) Despite having to shoulder a lot of shitty things that have been said to me during the 3-4 months it's taken to get to this point (since this was my decision), it's been pretty easy. But not letting those things that have been said get the best of me and make me lash out in retaliation is the key factor in trying to be the better person here, imho.

If she is so easy to deal with, why get a divorce in the first place?

She's easy to deal with (relatively speaking) in this divorce process. As far as cohabitation and marriage goes, she's been utterly insufferable. So I made the very tardy decision to cut my losses, for the long term benefit of myself, her and most importantly, my son who is the reason I breathe.

My mother screwed my step father when they split. It was classic.

The entire time my mother kept telling him she was going to go for the business because she "wanted income for the rest of her life". They went to court, he was all prepared to fight for the business, and when the moment came he offered the house.... My mother took it, a week later she was moved out, the house sold, and she had moved across country. He had no idea what hit him.

My first divorce I got everything, including full custody of my daughter

My second divorce, I had to pay for her car, but I kept the house. 3 days after she moved out, her son broke into my house and trashed a few things, a locket was missing that belonged to my daughter, it was from my grandmother, so the court let me keep his 22 Winchester rifle that his grand dad gave him, I gave it to my daughter. The rifle was made in 1936 and shoots great!
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                            think about that
