Been haveing a dialog with some dude about photos and usenet groups. He thinks that if I post an image in a group that he has the right to put it on his site and charge people to view it.

As far as I know I produced the image and therefore own copyright. If he posts it on his site for commercial gain he is violating copyright law.

Comments? Suggestions? Help getting this guy in deep shit?

The guy is deluding himself. If he's not willing to listen to reason, have someone that knows how to write legalese send him a nasty copyright policy on your behalf, stating in it that any violation of your legally-declared copyright will result in having his ass hauled into court where he will be summarily executed for being a total fucking moron.

However, if we brought back the death penalty for anyone found to be a total fucking moron, over half the population of the free world would be exterminated (and 99% of the middle east).

In this subject I am well versed having been ripped off myself. There are tons of sites explaining copyright as WELL as what the US FEd Govt has precedented as obscene. Not alot on the obscene true, but they are explicit rules.

Want 'em, hunt them IF you are not trying to fake your sites as legal. (The laws)

I am sure you can find a example legal letters online concering image rights online or from content providers that they have issused as a warning to people ask them for a dummy copy so u can insert your info then serve it to them as a learning experience and scare them at the same time.

The fastest way to get this taken care of is to contact his hosting company. You'll need to provide them with proof that you are the legal copyright owner of the photo's, and as soon as you do they have to remove the site immediately in order to comply with the DMCA.
