I'm sure they do after a few years, but since they have no expiration date, what's the average number of months to keep them in "good taste"?
Do candy bars ever expire?

My mother had a gift shop in the 70's. Usual shelf life where it starts to taste like its been sittin on the shelf too long was about 90 days.
You should know too before candy gets to retail stores it usually has been in a distributor's warehouse for at least 4 to 12 weeks also.
And most large retailers like Wal-Mart have their own regional distribution points which adds more shelf time.
Kind of amazing they taste as good as they do.
Avoid small stores to buy your candy. Some of them restock improperly and don't push the older boxes to the front or top in sync. I was on a trip and stopped for gas at one of those hokey gas stations and I picked up a tootsie roll to buy that had dust on the wrapper and it felt like a solid rock. I lifted the box and the date was from a couple years back.
