i hate microsoft

I just bought a new machine and it's running xp.
no matter what I do I get microsoft popups coming from my own machine, not from the internet. I go to Yahoo finance and the browser splits on every page to sell me microsoft money.

I never used windows messenger but it just starts itself and I can't close out of it because it says the application is in use and I can't turn it off.

I just rebooted my machine and stepped away, when I got back there were popup for passport.net, veritas, and windows update.

wish I got a Mac

Yeah, you should have gotten a Mac but I'll be helpful anyway. That is Microsoft money and I bet it is opening crap when you visit anything even remotely related to finance. You need to start money up and then when the next pop up thing comes up there should be an option to turn it off. Something like that anyway. It was a long time ago when I had to fuck with it and it is one more reason I switched to Macs.

good deals though. go to best buy and office xp pro is $550. she could get it for me for $90

I got that compaq I was talking about because it was free and I dont have the money for a nice machine. I'm using the compaq now, nice machine, haven't edited any videos yet.

I figure this will get me what I need and when I can afford it I'll go for a powerful mac machine.

Then what's the problem? There's nothing wrong with free! Pimp that machine out and when you feel you're ready grab a mac, it's all good. You can always look for a phat used or refurbished mac to try out as well. You can pull a nice refurb eMac for about $649 these days.

I did go to the store to look at macs and the mouse was round and hard to use and the keyboard was really shitty and tinny feeling and I knew I'd be having carpul tunnel outbreaks in minutes.
but i still want a mac someday because olivers and queits movies are so fucking perfect looking and i hate these microsoft popups and spams

None of the macs made in that last 2 or 3 years have a round mouse and a cheap keyboard anymore so you had to be looking at much older machines, and as far as a refurb goes, it carries the exact same warranty as a new machine and it's clearly a much better deal and has virtually the same amount of problems that a new machine does. So you're best off to buy a refurb if you find a good deal.
