    SKYPE Help Please

So my old dear tries to call from England last night on Skype.

Somehow the program has auto installed on her machine, an "upgrade" - added this feature which basically tries to call your phone instead.

Anyway, it's now not trying to get me on Skype, only on the phone. When I try and call her, it says she's unavailable. I know that's not the case as I was on my phone speaking to her and the program was open and said she was available.

I almost never use the program, and haven't touched anything.

Is there some BS malware which you can get which hijacks skype to route you to a website instead of the program, to try to force you to buy credits or something like that? She kept saying a screen was opening when she opened the program - that shouldn't happen.

She turned off the firewall and AV, nothing helped. Drove me nuts.

I don't really care, will just use the phone, but I like fixing things, it's a blokes way.

    Help please.

And yes, I asked her to delete her installation and clean install, same problem.

Is it possible it's a DFU error?

I would use http://www.gotoassist.com (30 day free trial) and check she is actually doing the right things.

Yeah, very nice talking about my aged mother like that, you show real "class" as usual.

It worked last time I spoke to her over skype the fucking program has obviously tried to force paid phone calls on her, rather than just connecting to another instance of skype as it should.

There's probably a new setting in there somewhere I can't find that resets the default call option to skype to skype or something. Nobody with a brain signs up for a paid call assist service unless they are really stupid.

And fuck off from my threads Damian, seriously. Dumb fucking manc living down the south coast. Don't get me started again, I'm done with you, a long while ago, you and that other douche with no class.

I'm not much of a skype user, how would your mum go with an uninstall of skype, the use of ccleaner (clean, cookies/registry), and install skype again?
Things that make ya go hmmmm....

I think that would be too complicated for her, but there could be some hijacking going on or the install is corrupt and she can't fix it.

Told her to contact Skype, but they are bound to take ages and she wants to talk / see her other grandchildren.
