      hate the fact that i made the mistake of purchasing a motorola cliq which uses motoblur. Motoblur is still using the 1.6 version of android and thus doesnt let trillian install.. im fed up.

          It must be a Motoblur thing because...

          Trillian requires Android 1.6 or above, so a heavy majority of users should be able to use it.

                          I used Trillian on my phone pretty extensively today and really like it. I wish it had Skype.

                          The Cliq has been rooted. I also think you can install another launcher over the top of the Motoblur UI...LauncherPro would be one to try.

                              He should be able to install a custom rom after the phone is rooted and not have to deal with Motoblur at all. LauncherPro is awesome.

                              Skype needs to get their shit together and get a proper android app released.

                                  ModMyMobile has a nice Moto Cliq forum, with an assortment of custom Roms to use.

                                      Skype used to be an available service with video chat app Fring for Android until recently.

                                          Yeah, I used it daily. I dumped Fring after it stopped working with Skype.
