Thanks. I think I have a few CD's of some of those guys. I'll check the ones I haven't heard before.
Come on people, post! I have to leave in 15 minutes or so for a long roadtrip, I need soothing music to keep me awake while I drive!
dead kennedys, ryker's (but not from the cradle to the grave), discipline, toy dolls, tech 9 (not the rap group), exploited, slime, battery, judge, rest in pieces (the older stuff), 108, earth crisis, the dwarves... well I could go on for a few months, these are pretty good though...

Skate's always nice. But everything goes.
I personally like pennywise, dead kennedys, millencolin and the sorts.
I do have some 'real' punk cd's too. As long as they have a kick to it, everything goes.

vandals, bouncing souls, dwarves, toy dolls, satanic surfers, undeclinable ambuscade, 10 foot pole, nofx, lagwagon, human alert, nofx, sloppy seconds, 59 times the pain, randy would be a few good bands for you then.
if you are looking for ska-punk check out a band called Jesse James ..I saw them recently and they are pretty good for that type of stuff. Their song 'shoes' is the best known so far.
I've been revisting the Ramones a lot lately - I wanna be sadated keeps playing in my head
Whilst I suppose not really all that punky i I do like the 'Diamonds and guns' song from the Transplants and since Tim from Rancid is in there I am going to gualify it on my own.
The Distillers are winning me over a bit lately too for the 'they can't sing at all but yet they rock' type of punk.

They were on Kimmel last night. I think they suck. Maybe it was just the performance, but the tune they played blew.
Originally posted by candyflip Check out the Toilet Boys. They're a glam rock/punk outfit...fronted by a 6' blonde transvestite. Trust me on this one...you'll dig it.
I ripped and zipped their latest album for you. I've got some other stuff too...so does Fletch. If you want more...let me know. Oh...and I did a quick rip, so they're .wma files. I hope that's not a problem.

OOO the transplants is some interesting stuff. I really liked it.
If he wants skater shit he has to go for some misfits, pennywise, face to face, lagwagon, strung out, no use for a name, nofx, bad religion, social distortion, etc.
about half way through and my headphones are competing with my husband's insistance on playing seriously crap music really loud (he used to be hardcore punk...things happen with age I guess). I am liking what I am hearing....i keep having moments when I am thinking 'Van Halen' gutair.
seeing them the next time they play London...waiting to hear dates. Should be a laugh if nothing else.
heh... if they're still anything like they used to be, it will be a memorable show... their early shows were the inspiration for the madness that GWAR brought to the stage, like Optimus Prime taking the stage and screaming into a mic..
...promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..
well I thought the Pistols were a given. Hubby used to do PR stuff for them back in the day - part of his original chat up of me included telling me that.
Pretty Vacant has one of the best intros in history.
I prefer musicians that know how to play well their instruments.
Mariano,
i thought you were more inteligent than that. You having a degree in music should known better than the retarded comment that you just threw.
Myself, as punk rocker (with emphasys in both PUNK and ROCK) for as far as i remember and playing in bands through my whole life, i feel offended. And i feel that most people would totally disagree with you.
I hope this was all in the spirit of GFY, if not, do yourself a favour and grab some Toy Dollz CDs for some old school punk with true musicians, just as a pinch of the bands that i could recommend, or try "The New What Next" or any Hot Water Music CD and then come back here and say that punk rockers can“t play their instruments.
