    Suggestions Please!!! Web Development Application

    Hello!

My mom has used Frontpage to manage her website for a loooooooong time (obviously, it's Frontpage!). Anyway, it's all f***ed up now and it's time for her to use something else.

She's a physician, so I don't want to suggest something uber complicated...She just needs to post her newsletter, make simple changes, etc.

I googled "open source web development application" and see www.dotnetnuke.com, www.rubyonrails.org, etc.

Any suggestions for something user-friendly and not a bazillion dollars?

    Thanks!
    Mona

Wordpress is quite simple to understand as a CMS using pages for stuff. No idea if that's a sensible suggestion without seeing the site.

Otherwise if she wants to build pages in her computer then upload them you could try Dreamweaver - doesn't have to be a current version i'm still using 2004.

The site is already built... She needs something like Dreamweaver. WYSIWYG editor.

However, I think that Dreamweaver is too "intense"... I'm wondering if there's not a simpler alternative.

Or just hire some part time webmaster, as a physician should be able to easily afford one?

or if it's just a hobby for her, dreamweaver is probably the way to go, it's not really that bad once you get used to it...

I know it's not quite the answer to your question, but if I was billing patients few hundred bucks per hour, I certainly wouldn't be messing around with html, I would hire a professional to do the job...

unless her website is unrelated to her business and she is just doing it for fun, in that case nevermind
