question about The Statician conversion ratios

are those accurate conversion ratios?
I hear ppl doing 1:8, 1:12. whats up with this guy telling us 1:146?

and if THESE arent true, what makes us say the others are true?

The thing is, those ratios are high, b/c I believe most of the traffic is untargetted stuff. Old SE links, type in pages, etc. I don't know all the stuff, but it is Aga's traffic mainly. Fairly un-biased stats recording, though the sponsors have to Pay to be tested by them, and the sponsors know what accounts they are using. So IF any sponsors shave on the list, they would definitely turn shaving off on that account. Not that any sponsors I know of offhand shave www.thestatistician.com (assuming the domain isn't banned on here, b/c they are run by a rival msg board)

Yeah, amazing how many people dont think about this. And it aint just not shaving, whats to keep them from buying a few memberships themselves or other such hanky panky? You cant trust any ratios except your own, and come to think of it, you got to wonder about them too.

Your stats will always be different than other peoples because of :

a) the quality of surfer surfing their site
b) the method of marketing used on the banner/text
c) possible other reasons

But does this mean that we should ignore stats? Absolutely not.

Obviously our own stats are the most important, but I always find it useful to look at other people's stats as well, just to get ideas for new sponsors to try out.
