Paysite protection script

Hey everyone.... i'm getting serious attacks from hitbots who mask themselves as MSIE so theres basically no way to .htaccess protect my member's areas. So, I'm looking for a script that stops assfucks from spidering my site with like transfer limits and IP restrictions.

I know of pennywize which is monthly fee based but I was wondering if there is a stand alone script that performs similarly. Any links or spam would help!

Among other things, yes. But that is my main concern. Should also come with login / member's management code.

Might want to get something coded. The only one I can think of is Pennywize that stops hit bots, password trading, and can limit members downloads.

you can install mod_throttle, some people say it doesn't work, I say it does and they didn't set it up properly

Or get something coded that allows a member in for only 2 hours or so before they have to sign in again.

As for download bots, those fuking things....

Yep, I woke up to a world of hurt. Anyway, theres gotta be something that the big boys like ARS, et al use.

This is really weird. Thousands of paysites out there and they all have custom protection scripts? There's gotta be soemthing already written....need this thing asap..

Why not use Pennywize until you can find something? It will slow them down for the time being....

We've got probably over 40 gigs of content in our members area, most of it video.

We're no ARS, but we find that the bandwidth hit is pretty minimal to serve our entire member base. Do you really have that much of a problem? Bandwidth is dirt cheap.

just use Password Sentry in tandem w/ MOD_THROTTLE... Sentry stops downloader programs as well as keeps track of all logins and shared passwords, and suspends accounts quickly in case of sharing... its also cheap, w/ no monthly fee..
